Exploring the Shubenacadie Waterway

This year, my family and I have been exploring the Shubenacadie Waterway with the Shubenacadie Canal Commission– in so many different ways! A good way to start is with one of their History Hikes – a MUST for your 2023 bucket list, if you haven’t already done it. The hikes normally happen on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They start back up in May ,and Family Fun Halifax usually advertises these on their calendar. You can also learn more at the Shubenacadie Canal Commission’s website, and blog, which is updated regularly.

But there is WAYYYYY more! Watch this space for upcoming stories about our Date Night at the The Fourth Lock restaurant (amazing – open year-round), and in the Spring, look for a story about 5 Family Friendly Hikes along the Shubenacadie Waterway (thanks to Dad for helping me out with this one).

I’m so happy to be learning new things, and writing about local adventures.
